Do it, do the worm… or as the brits call it (perhaps more accurately) the caterpillar. (ps, wordpress can’t handle object embeds.)

I think I should start a YouTube link blog just for gems like this.
I was reading this article in the Chicago times (or chicago mag or something) about how Lost “creator” Jeff Lieber gets an onscreen credit and tons of cash every time Lost airs. The guy wrote a pilot that was greenlighted all the way to a last executive, who felt the show was more of a rehash than innovative or interesting. He created the characters, JJ Abrahms and Carlton Cuse (and Damon Lindelof, perhaps) created the flashback idea and the mystic island scenario. The real interesting facet of the whole game is the guy sounds a little like he’s complaining, when instead of complaining, I’d take all the money I’d be getting for a show and doing whatever I feel like. If I created something that got killed, but I still took home a writing or creating credit, and still got a six figure income annually (which he probably gets if not seven figures) what would you have to complain about? You can do WHATEVER you’d like creatively and never have to worry about finances. It sounds like Lost will hit syndication, in which case the guy will NEVER have to work EVER again. He’ll get residuals for the rest of his life, and he can do anything he want’s creatively.
Seriously, so what if you’re not seen as the “real creator,” you’ve got all the cash anyone needs. Stop whining.
This video is pretty awesome, despite the potty mouth name of the band. Admire it more for the filmmaking and less for the music / band name.
