Michael Jackson: Moonwalker for the Sega Genesis

So a co-worker and I are obsessed with 80’s video games. To that end, we came across this nugget of greatness on Wikipedia:

An ad scan for Michael Jackson’s moonwalker.

Moonwalker

I’d just like to pause for a second, and realize that no one should be enticed by a game that highlights:

Lame game.

But, then we found this awesome, awesome, awesome part of the story:

That’s right, Michale has to search through caves and caverns to find the (not just any ol’ children) CAREFULLY KIDNAPPED CHILDREN. Why are they kidnapped carefully? Not just regular kidnap victims? Michael… I think there’s something going on here.

DS: Fun again!

So I bought the Wii, but haven’t started playing it yet.  I packed up my xbox360 today and then, while going through more of my crap, I found my DS!  Haven’t played it in a while, but it is pretty fun.  If only I could fly again and play some extra DS, but alas, looks like I’ll have to carve out some special DS time when I get to boston.

The good thing about cleaning out your crap proceedurally over three days? You have some extra time to play with your stuff one last time before it hits a box.

Wii-volution

So I should have prefaced my earlier post with some background.  I’ve been cleaning my house, prepping to move and whatnot, and with that I found little use for my Gamecube.  I decided the meager $20-30 I’d get for the device warrented a trade, since I can finally play Viewtiful Joe 2 on the Wii anyway.

After calling literally 13 stores, the 14th had it.  EB games on 55th south and Redwood said they’ve got the goods, took my gameboy player and A/V and AC adapter (they wouldn’t take my cube since I lost the little bottom cover thing) and I took my new Wii home.

When I got home, I eagerly checked the mail to find a HUGE catalog from B&H photo, which I proceeded to throw away, along with another treat from the Big Apple: My NY state tax refund!  Bam!  The $135 + $20 of in-store credit runs my Wii purchase down to about $115, after those bloody taxes.  Now, I’m working on my birthday wishlist / my next purchase wishlist so I’ll have something to strive for once I’m outta debt.

Sidenote: I’m not even going to play the Wii till I get to boston really.  I bought it because I didn’t want to have to pack my Gamecube.  Weird logic for sure, but another box already filled with goodness goes a long way over a loose silver gamecube that hasn’t seen much play since I got the Xbox360.

Wii: WHY!?

Why is it that no one has any Nintendo Wii’s in stock?  It’s like almost six months after the holiday season… about the time when I said I was planning on purchasing one during my yearly “post e3″ purchase phase.

WHAT is the deal?

YDKJ!

I was really into You Don’t Know Jack! in the mid-to-late nineties. Now, they’ve revived it! WHOA!

Successful twice over!

Success one:

Emergence day was a pretty fun ol’ time.  If you wanna get in on the next one, email me your gamertag.  I’ll give e’ryone a heads up when we do it again.  gearsofwar[at]randallcbennett.com

Success two:

How do you define success?  If it’s “halfway to profitable” then count me in! Yeah, i’ve gotten only a meager 200 page views in two days, but hey, everyone starts some where.  Fact is though, I’m guaranteed a revver payout before I switch to a different system now. I’ve mad a tad over $50 between adsense, adbrite and revver.  Go me!  (My hosting costs are like $8/month, so that puts me ahead two months!)

Emergence Day…
