Polyphasic Sleep: Day 10
See that lil’ timestamp? I’m not sure if you can see it or not… but it’s currently 1:36 according to the cable box. That’s right, I woke up 30 minutes before my alarm today. I went to bed at the standard 10pm, but woke up at 1:30. And when I did wake up, I was sort of in a panic. I wasn’t sure if I had over slept somehow, if my 3 alarms miraculously were all turned off, or what. I woke up, checked the ipod, it said “4:25″ or whatever, which is in eastern time, and I starte freaking out because I thought I had overslept by like three hours. But yeah, I didn’t, and instead, I get to write you a few minutes earlier than usual.
The fact that my body woke up on its own makes me very happy. I, ironically perhaps, don’t actually need the extra half hour that it provided me today, but meh, I don’t mind so much.
More to the point, the adaptation phase is basically over for me, which is pretty awesome. I’m not really tired right now, and I actually feel significantly less tired than when I would wake up normally, believe it or not.
Needless to say, I’m happy… though the more I think about it, the more polyphasic sleep even freaks me out. “There’s no way this is healthy!” I keep thinking to myself. “This is too good to be true!” etc.
Ugh… update: Failed out. My computer shut down from lack of battery, and I sat down to think about it and ended up going to sleep for 3 more hours. Boo. So basically I failed again. So much for being out of the adjustment phase. Gotta stay motivated.
