Firefox (and variants) we’re through for a while

I’m on the mac, and I’ve had some horrible problems with firefox for about six months. Today, I decided I was through with slowdown and crashing, and instead switched to new Safari and Opera as my two browsing platforms (instead of Firefox and Netscape.) Sorry guys, but your instability is too much for me.
Update: I found out that if I turn off all extensions, my life is significantly better, but as for now, Safari 3 is still fast, and Opera is stable and full-featured.

Interesting. I’m on a Mac Powerbook and use Firefox exclusively. I have never had it freeze up on me or crash. It’s all that smut you’re downloading, huh?

I have quite a few extensions that I use without much trouble (I’m on an Intel) but every once in a while you end up with one that just ruins your life. I’d recommend a little trial and error. For me, Greasemonkey has always been a huge problem. Until someone writes something for it that is totally indispensable, I can live without it. What I can’t live without though, are the Web Developer Extension and Firebug. So FF it is.
