State of TCD

So I’ve been doing Tech Check Daily since November (October, technically) and things have been going well. Right now, here’s what I hate and like about the show.

Hate–
Since we don’t have enough time (we’re busy with our two other jobs) we can’t do the kind of show we’d like. Example, yesterday’s show. I only got to write a first draft of my script, and after reading through it a few times, I really didn’t like the way I explained some concepts (especially the vista story.) I didn’t realize how weird it sounded when I totally buried my lead till it was too late, and basically I’m just dissatisfied with the show yesterday.

Love–
Graphics! I also love the fact that my on camera presence is getting better, and noticbly so. The benefit of doing the show every day, and then editing and posting the show is the fact I have to watch myself. I’m working on getting better, so even if I’m not happy with the show due to lack of time, it’s going to continue to get better.

My new goal? I picked up two great freelance gigs, and after I get my January Weblogs, Inc. payment, i’ll be out of debt. I want to quit my job at some point in the future, but I’m not certain how I can make up the rest of the cash. I think if I give myself a big paycut, especially now that I have equipment and have actually paid for all of it, I’ll be good to go. The biz still has about $3,000 on my personal credit, but its at 0% interest till next year. Hopefully it can pay me back by next year.
