Bloggies = WTF?

Sure, I’m biased, but according to both engadget’s traffic numbers, and number of technorati mentions, Engadget is still popular. However, not nominated for a single bloggie. Yeah, they’re the 100lb gorilla of technology blogs, but does that mean they shouldn’t be nominated? For anything? At All?

I haven’t gone through the full list yet, but looks like Weblogs, Inc.’s AOL affiliation has hurt it in the “rep” category. I still think TV Squad, Engadget, BloggingStocks (plug!), AutoBlog and Joystiq are some of the best blogs on the interwebs, but hey, what do I know?

    Engadget’s primary competitor has six nominations and Gawker in all has twelve. Weblogs Inc. has zero.

    It certainly appears as if there’s a bias behind these nominations. Who does the nominations?

    One of these days I’ll start my blog. This weekend I finally got my Internet connection working so next weekend I can do other things on my list. Blog awards are stupid.
