I don’t think there is possibly a worse shift than 3:30-12:30.
Seriously.
I can’t sleep before it very well (three hours regardless of where I start sleeping.)
So… I guess I’m doomed to be a zombie again tomarrow. The upside? This time I get to go home at 12:30. I’ll probably not die as easily.

This is one of those really sappy stories, but I used to read Engadget, and now I work there.
Wow.
Today, its official. I got an Engadget e-mail address.
For those of you not familiar with Engadget, they’re a nerdy-ish techy type publication. For those of you not familiar with my, I’m a nerdy-ish, techy type, that really wants to become a tech reporter. This is really a great first step in this direction.
The great part about Engadget, is they’re not so straight laced as other traditional media outlets. In fact, that’s one of their strong points. They’ve got the geek attitude down.
I’m producing their podcast. Basically, think radio producer, but for internet radio. I’m hoping that this can turn into my day job, instead of my free time job. We’ll see where it goes.
Today, a reporter said I did a good job on a story a couple days ago, and I really appreciated it. I don’t know if people realize that we appreciate compliments, but when you think something is good, and someone lets you know THEY think its good, its a double great thing.
Carole Mikita’s packages are always easy, and typically turn out good, but hey, its always good to hear it.

I work in 2 hours.
I’ve decided, i’m going to go to work without anymore sleep. Now i’m going to stay awake and get stuff done. I work 3:30 am – 6 PM.

It seems like I make everyone angry at work… well only in my department. I unplugged a wire so I could listen to my ipod, and forgot to plug it in, so I get an angry phone call.
AND the aformentioned 4am call.
Everyone outside my department seems to like me though, so i guess oh well.
So if you were watching my channel on saturday, you’d realize how STUPID i am. I accidently brought up an OTS behind the sports anchor…

Why is it that my family always gets treated like crap when we go to the hospital? I get ignored for 3 hours, just to tell me that i’m probably not dying, and go pay money to random other people…
My father, whos heart rate dipped kind of low a few days ago, has been in the hospital for TWO DAYS waiting for a cardiologist. Those kinds of things are what piss me off about the medical community. My dad isn’t dying now, so we should just ignore him. NEVERMIND the fact that he’ll have to pay extra because he was in the hospital for two extra days, and now they don’t want him to leave because he hasn’t seen the cardiologist yet.
Thats bull S*** (its shut your mouth words). Honestly, if someone can give me a legit reason why ANYONE should wait for two days to be seen, or if anyone can give me a reason why I was supposed to go to seven different doctors, with NO resolution… at all… (I still haven’t heard back from a cat scan, so I assume i’m ok) then i’d give them money. There is no reason. At some point you have to either a) find another doctor who isn’t helping emergency patients, or b) make time for my freaking patient!
